THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :
CONSCIOUSNESS AND TRANSCENDENCE
The embroidered work of French artist Shoko Tsuji presents an infinity of eyes arranged in a concentric shape. Sowing confusion between the viewer and the viewed, she questions the essence of our identities, beyond appearances. The discipline of embroidery, artisanal and meditative, requires patience and concentration. There is a quasi-therapeutic research within this work, which recalls the foundations of traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine, according to which the healing of the spirits passes by the balance of the body energies. By giving a central place to the invisible links that circulate within us, the artist pays attention to a part of our personality that is little considered in contemporary Western societies.
The Caring Gallery is committed to donating 10% of the sale of this work to the partner association of the exhibition.
