Elsa and Johanna's photographic series feature a multitude of characters with a vintage and timeless look, recognizable in our collective imagination while remaining stamped with mystery and irony. Thus the two ageless women in the photograph "Playground" seem to embody this universal adolescence, dreamy and jaded, caught between the games of childhood and an imagination that invites the otherworldly. A nod to the Rimbaudian's ''elsewhere'' as much as to American schoolgirls, the image takes on the aesthetic and cinematographic light of the great American spaces.
