THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :

In 2015, after walking through the streets of Kabul dressed in a metallic armour exaggerating the female forms of her body (performance Armor), the Afghan artist Kubra Kadhemi had to flee her country and take refuge in France, where she now lives. This performance is emblematic of her work as a whole, which tends to show how political issues are played out around the woman's body. In the drawings presented here, the artist shows proud and triumphant women, freed from all patriarchal authority. Neither forbidden, nor modesty: with Kubra Khademi, women are free, subversive and sovereign.

The Caring Gallery is committed to donating 10% of the sale of this work to the partner association of the exhibition.
