THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :

The artist Nicolas Floc'h presents photographs of the seas and oceans that cover more than 70% of the planet. Their chromatic variations depend on the depth and distance from the coast. This pictorially striking project is also valuable scientific research material, allowing researchers to analyse the biological variations of the marine environment.
Phytoplankton are the main determinants of the colour of the water. The first links in the aquatic food chain, these invisible micro-organisms are a veritable lung for the Earth as they produce more than 50% of the oxygen. They also play a key role in climate regulation and the absorption and storage of CO2. By revealing these underwater landscapes to us and sharing them with the scientific community, the artist draws a fascinating junction between art and science.

The Caring Gallery is committed to donating 10% of the sale of this work to the partner association of the exhibition.
