SEEK OTHER " How to situate ourselves between the expansive urbanity that destroys the social link, and our human nature? "  (Interview with the artist, June 2021)

Elena Costelian was born in 1979 in Romania. She graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Nantes and the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg. For the past 10 years, she has been developing an artistic practice that combines photography, performance and installations. Travel, nomadism and history are the central notions of her work, with, for example, a photographic and sound project carried out during an Atlantic crossing by sailboat (2011).

Elena Costelian has exhibited at the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the Kunsthalle de Mulhouse, and at the Palais de Tokyo during the "Do Disturb" festival. Back from an 18-month performance work in Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris and Athens, she is part of the "Poush" residency in Clichy, near Paris.
